Amanda’s teaching, writing and facilitating excellence was honed, and has been recognised by 8,000+ students, and her peers, and at an institutional level and nationally. Outstanding instructional design underpinned her success. For Amanda’s entire academic career, her student satisfaction rating exceeded both the Faculty and University averages. In 2006 Amanda won the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. In 2007 she won a Carrick Institute Australian Award for University Teaching. While teaching at a university level Amanda wrote 72 original case studies and has worked with many more case studies from client experience or other sources. She is well versed in delivering salient messages and learning opportunities from experience (cases).

Experience

Amanda’s easy-going, erudite and accessible style has through word-of-mouth alone led her to craft and run group workshops for thousands of academics, public servants, businesspeople and university students in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Amanda is a highly trained, inclusive and effective facilitator and Executive Coach. She works equally well with material she has written, and material she has been provided. She is adept at close collaboration with clients to align material to expectation. As a consultant Amanda worked deeply within APS departments and divisions, during times of change, writing and delivering material to gain the best from rafts of staff. In universities she has worked across whole strata of staff, for example finance staff or human resources staff, to ready them for professional challenges. She has a proven track record of success in career coaching, strategic change coaching, communication coaching, team and alignment coaching. and presenting-to-camera coaching. Since January 2023 Amanda has facilitated 17 different sets of course content for the APSC, in the APS Academy Craft and Learning Division. She has a proven track record of success in facilitating content addressing integrity, team capability building and organisational influencing skills. Amanda has also received excellent feedback for facilitating courses in accountability, delegation, decision making responsibilities, public sector stewardship in the Australian Public Sector (APS) – in, leadership and management capabilities, including facilitating masterclasses for public servants at Senior Executive and Secretary Level(s).

Coaching Approach

Amanda’s coaching methodology and style were developed/refined while she worked for universities. She is well versed in team coaching – with high performing teams, teams facing challenges and teams needing support with succession planning and skill acquisition. Amanda is highly effective when coaching individuals and has a particular interest and experience in coaching for executive presence, women in leadership, vocal clarity – for multi dialectical clients, to enhance effective communication with staff, potential funders, industry groups, the media (or students), and to facilitate sharing very complex highly technical material with novice or lay audiences.
